Bassac OCTO API — Terms of Use

Version 1.0 — draft, 7 July 2026. These terms supplement the General Sales Terms; commercial matters (rates, cancellation, payment) remain governed by those. If the two conflict on a commercial point, the General Sales Terms prevail.

1. Scope of the key

  • An API key grants a registered Partner (the “Partner”) a non-transferable right to query availability and, where the key allows it, place booking requests on the Bassac scheduler, for the Partner's own reselling activity.
  • Keys must not be shared with third parties, sub-agents or affiliates: each organisation integrating with the API is issued its own key.
  • TransMékong may evolve the API (endpoints, fields, formats) with reasonable notice; the supplier record and the Partner API Guide are the reference at any time.

2. Key custody

  • The key is a credential, like a password. Keep it secret. Do not embed it in client-side code, mobile applications or public repositories.
  • Advise us immediately at bassac@bassac.vn if you believe a key has been exposed: we revoke it and issue a replacement. The Partner remains responsible for all calls made with the key until such notice reaches us.
  • TransMékong never asks for a key by e-mail or telephone.

3. Fair use

  • The API serves genuine availability queries and booking requests. Bulk scraping, republication of the raw data feed, and load testing are not permitted.
  • Abnormal call volumes may be throttled or the key revoked without notice.
  • The number of cabins a Partner may hold as open options at any one time is limited by a quota computed from that Partner's confirmed business. Reaching the quota is a business rule, not a malfunction: the API answers with an explicit message, and our team can always take a request by telephone at +84 (0)292 382 9540.

4. Nature of a hold ("option")

  • A Booking Reservation placed through the API is a temporary option, not a confirmed sale.
  • The option expires silently at the deadline stated in the API response and in the option statement e-mail — typically our next working day at noon, and never later than the departure. Be sure to confirm before then, by the API's Confirmation call or by answering the option e-mail.
  • The boat earmarked for a departure is only ever tentative: TransMékong reroutes boats to meet demand and cannot commit in advance to which vessel serves which route.
  • No payment is taken through the API. Invoicing and settlement follow the existing commercial agreement between the Partner and TransMékong.

5. Availability data and liability

  • Availability is a best-effort, real-time snapshot. Bookings are also managed manually; a request already received but not yet processed takes priority over a later API call. Priority always goes to the first request received.
  • TransMékong is not liable for commitments the Partner makes to its own customers on the basis of an unconfirmed option, nor for the consequences of defects in the Partner's integration (duplicate calls, erroneous dates or quantities).
  • The twin/double cabin split shown per departure is informative; the total number of cabins is reliable. Cabin mixes must fit a single vessel.

6. Data

  • Contact details submitted with a booking are used to operate the cruise and the reservation correspondence, and for nothing else.
  • The Partner warrants it has the right to pass its customers' details to TransMékong for that purpose.

7. Term and revocation

  • Keys carry an expiry date (one year by default) and are renewable on request.
  • TransMékong may revoke a key at any time in case of breach of these terms, abuse, or end of the commercial relationship. Revocation does not affect bookings already confirmed.
  • The Partner may request revocation of its own keys at any time at bassac@bassac.vn.

8. Acceptance

  • Requesting a key through the partner portal implies acceptance of these terms; the acceptance (date and terms version) is recorded with the key.
  • These terms are governed by the law of Việt Nam, including but not limited to: Law on Cybersecurity 2025 (No. 116/2025/QH15), the Law on Personal Data Protection (No. 91/2025/QH15) in accordance to decree 356/2025/NĐ-CP, the Law on E-Transactions (No. 20/2023/QH15), the Law on Data (No. 60/2024/QH15), the Telecommunications Law 24/2023/QH15, and the Consumer Rights Protection Law 19/2023/QH15
